All this seems so obvious to homeschoolers. Afterall, we were observant and left the government schools long ago. (Well, we’ve always homeschooled–over 17 years now.) Sadly, most people who graduate from ps have no idea what a raw deal the got from 13 years in the system, as evidenced in the comments section at Dani’s post here: http://gottsegnet.blogspot.com/2007/06/annotated-constitution.html .
I’m going to put a referal to your post in her comments.
I think the Parent should be allow more control over the schools there children attend. I think there should be a vote on all issues concerning our children. It is our children and it should be our schools while our children are in attendance.
Uniform is a very important part of schooling,it removes 80% of pear presure, when one child clothing is no more attractive than the other. It will allow our children to focus there tenacious competitiviy on there education ,when motivated by well trained teachers that fully comprehend what it takes to stimulate young minds .
Sherry, thanks for linking the blog and thanks for your insights. My family has been benefited greatly from homeschooling! It sounds like your family has too.
Eve, thanks for sharing your thoughts. You bring up an interesting point.
